About Us
The stability and strength of our health care coverage is one way we provide confidence to Floridians. But we also provide hope. Through The Blue Foundation for a Healthy Florida, we provide grants to organizations focused on improving health in our communities. And, through BlueCommunity Champions, our employees dedicate their efforts to causes throughout the state. We also provide jobs. Our home office is in Jacksonville, but we employ thousands throughout our state.

History
We have a long history of providing health-related solutions to the people of Florida. Our roots date back to 1944. Ever since then, we continue to grow and expand.

Today, our focus remains primarily in the health industry, but BCBSF is more than a health insurer. In response to a vastly changing marketplace, we are involved with companies to meet the diverse needs of the health industry overall.

Our Relationship with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association
We are an independent licensee of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (Association). The Association governs the business practices of approximately 42 independent plans located nationwide and in Puerto Rico.

We all rely on the Association to be our collective voice in the federal and state legislatures with the purpose of bringing meaningful changes and advances to the U.S. health care financing and delivery system.

Collectively, Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans provide health care coverage for 88.7 million - or more than one in three - Americans.1

Health is offered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Inc. (BCBSF). Dental, Life and Disability are offered by Florida Combined Life, Inc., an affiliate of BCBSF.  All companies are Independent Licensees of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
