About United Concordia
Headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United Concordia has been insuring dental health since 1971. Since that time, United Concordia has grown to employ more than 1,100 people at offices strategically located throughout the United States. As one of the largest and fastest-growing dental-only insurance carriers in the country, United Concordia processed 11.5 million claims and handled over 6.9 million inquiries in 2004 on behalf of our 6.5 million members. 

Flexible Products
United Concordia offers a broad range of dental insurance products, including passive and active Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), and DHMO plans. United Concordia also provides administrative services (commonly referred to as ASO arrangements) to employers who choose to insure their own employees.

United Concordia products are available to groups with 2 or more enrollees on an employer-sponsored basis and to groups of 10 or more on a voluntary basis. Although we are large enough to handle large, national clients, we’re small enough to understand and meet the needs of smaller, local clients.

Accessible Networks
To support our wide range of product offerings, United Concordia offers some of the largest dental networks in the nation. Our Advantage Plus PPO network contains more than 63,300 dentists operating at over 82,700 locations, while our more deeply discounted PPO network, Concordia Advantage, offers more than 45,700 dentists at 61,000 locations. Both networks include providers in all 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Providers participating in the Advantage Plus and Concordia Advantage networks have agreed to accept United Concordia’s allowances as payment in full for services provided to members, resulting in discounts of approximately 26% and 29% respectively off of area average charges. 

Our DHMO network currently offers access to over 2,300 dentists in specific geographic regions within CA, DC, KY, MD, MI, MO, OH, PA and TX.

State-of-the-Art eCapabilities
At no additional charge, United Concordia offers secured, password protected, on-line tools to give group administrators, members and providers instant access to information for groups of all sizes, regardless of the dental plan chosen. 

Group administrators can check eligibility and add, change and cancel coverage for employees and their family members through Group Query. ASO group administrators can access detailed benefit and claim history information via the ConcordiaConnect system. 

My Dental Benefits allows members to view eligibility, enrollment, benefits, procedure and claim histories, print identification cards, access Customer Service on-line, and search for a dentist.

Dentists can access detailed benefits information and procedure history through My Patients’ Benefits, allowing them to advise patients on what will and will not be covered by their current dental plan.

At United Concordia, we are committed to building strong customer relationships. Our dental-only focus and successful experience providing dental programs to a wide range of business partners allows us to serve the needs of our customers efficiently and effectively. This is why 96% of our members continue to call United Concordia their dental insurer year after year. 

As part of our five-star service, we work hard to process claims and resolve inquiries quickly. Our Claims department processes over 98% of claims within 14 days while our Customer Service department, which is available on-line 24/7 or via our toll-free customer service number Monday through Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. Eastern Time, resolves 95% of customer inquiries on the first call. We also offer dedicated sales and account management services to ensure our Group Administrators always have someone to address any questions or resolve any issues that may arise.
